Welcome to WTP!

 System, Host, and Port Requirements

WTP System Requirements

  • Windows 10 or later.
  • .Net Framework 4.0 or later

WTP production users will need to provide their static IP to Tradewex Support in order to establish a connection to WTP.  If a WTP user does not have a static IP, an alternative solution can be provided by contacting WEX Support.

WEX Support will provide a list of hosts and ports that WTP must connect to through client firewalls in order to successfully submit trades, receive notifications, and obtain market data.

 Download and Setup Instructions

Downloading the WEX Install Client

All users will first be required to install a separate application called “WEX Install Client”, which provides users with the ability to manage and distribute multiple versions of WTP.

Please navigate to https://tradewex.com/install/WexInstallClient.exe.

Based upon your security settings you may be asked if you would like to proceed with the download process.  To begin the download, answer “Yes”.  Once the WEX Install Client is downloaded, click on the executable to begin the install.

Downloading WTP

1. After you have installed and launched the WEX Install Client, a dialog box will appear.  Enter the Update Server, Client ID, and License Key that have been provided to you in the email sent from Tradewex Support.  Production users will need to call Tradewex Support at (312) 884-3066 for their firm's License Key.

2. When asked to select a product, select WTP.  Within the Version field select the most recent (the highest number) Version.  Then select Install and the WTP installation will begin.

3. When prompted to choose an installation Mode, if you are installing WTP for yourself, simply choose Just This User.  If you are an administrator installing on behalf of someone else, please refer to the "Administrator Instructions" section, below.

4. Once the installation process has been fully completed, you will be able to launch WTP from your Start Menu, or optionally a shortcut on your Desktop.

    1. Note the traders might have to start WTP “as administrator” for updating and templates/workspaces to work properly.
  2. If traders are not Windows Administrators:
    1. For WTP to save templates, workspaces, etc, then:
      1. The traders will need read/write access to the directory, or
      2. You can specify an alternate directory for WTP to use in WTP’s Global Configuration (contact Tradewex Support at (312)-884-3066 or by email at support@tradewex.com for details).
    2. For WTP to have self-updating capability:
      1. Installing WTP in “Just This User” mode while logged into Windows as the trader will allow the trader to upgrade WTP.
      2. If you install WTP in “All Users” mode while logged in as a Windows Administrator, then the trader will need input from the admin to upgrade.
